Midwest Smooth Jazz is proud to present on Thursday, April 3rd, at 6:30pm, Ed Achibald at the Ozone, in Omaha, for another Smooth Jazz Thursday.
Ed Archibald is a Jazz saxophonist with over 30 years of experience. His musical roots are a mixed bag of Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Country and Classical music, which gives his sound a truly unique flavor. Ed has had the privilege of playing alongside Chaka Khan and as the solo opening act for Kem in 2009.He has performed on the same stage as Marcus Johnson, Everett Harp, and Nelson Rangell and has also had the honor to be the opening act for the legendary Al Green. He has appeared on the local television talent show “Jazz One” and for the last several years he has played at the popular Omaha Riverfront Jazz & Blues Festival.
His 2006 critically acclaimed debut album entitled “Smoove Grooves” is available now on many Internet downloading sites such as iTunes, Soul101 and Rhapsody and can even be purchased on CD Baby.com. His sophomore project Love, Jazz & Soul, released in December 2008, is already receiving positive feedback.

Gooch & The Guys was created in Las Vegas. It was a team of great musicians as well as songwriters, which got together to explore and collaborate on their original music. To date, Gooch has written over 100 songs. Some of which have been recorded and performed by various artists around the country. The song grooves are made up of funk, soul, Latin, swing, shuffles, blues, and bebop. This plethora of musical styles has been very influential on Gooch while growing up.
Now reforming the band in Omaha, with “The Guys” being some of the hottest cats on the jazz scene, the band interprets music from a vast variety of musical styles. Piano, guitar, bass, drums, woodwinds, and Gooch round out the sextet known as, Gooch & The Guys.

Come and hear “Old School Jazz” with a little R& B. Anthony Steels first gained national attention when he sang National Anthems for the National Football League as a professional football player. His style appeals to all audiences. Anthony brings a blend of musicality ranging from Lou Rawls to Luther Van Dross to Marvin Gaye. Mario Beltran, is no stranger to the music scene in Omaha and his sounds are very tight and funky. He is teaming up with percussionist Carlos Rogriguez, along with the smooth grooving sounds of Brian Saxkeys Holland.
